ReMED Project

Capitalising and combining the results of previous and ongoing projects (CESBA MED Sustainable MED Cities, Sustainable MED Cities, ARTACLIM and Habit.A). ReMED (Towards Climate Resilient Mediterranean Cities) will develop an innovative set of affordable tools, along with an overarching decision support framework.

Qala Football Ground

The EcoGozo Directorate recently completed the installation of a new turf system at the newly constructed Qala Ground. The works involved re-levelling and compacting the existing aggregate sub-base to create a stable and permeable platform for the football turf system.

Multi-Modal Hub, Ta’ Xhajma Xewkija

A multi-modal hub is being constructed at Ta' Xhajma in Gozo, which will provide 300 parking spaces and charging pillars for electric cars. The new facility aims to reduce traffic congestion in the harbour area, which is notorious for creating bottlenecks during peak hours.

Malta National Optical Astronomy Observatory

The EcoGozo Directorate in collaboration with the Institute of Space Sciences and Astronomy (ISSA) of the University of Malta, have installed Malta’s first National Optical Astronomy Observatory at il-Qortin Ta’ Sopu, Nadur.
