VIAF educational, conservation and marketing project
This project by the Victoria International Arts Festival Foundation included the conservation of two Baroque Organs housed within the historic St. George’s Basilica, namely the Santucci 1781 Organ and the British 1780 Organ, the purchasing of a Harpsichord and the organisation of master classes in various disciplines. All these together gave the opportunity to exploit the potential of marketing Gozo as a Baroque Music Venue of world-class stature. Such initiatives, properly marketed, could be spread throughout the year to ensure maximisation of participation, both as regards internal as well as external cultural tourism. Another important ingredient is the promotional and marketing activity, including the setting up of a state-of-the-art interactive website, publications in specialised journals and spots on television.
This project was eligible for 95% of its funding through the eco-Gozo scheme for NGOs.
